REPLACING FRONT DOOR HARDWARE
Before selecting replacement hardware for your front door, you should take the following measurements to help your Allen & Allen sales person find just the right set for your door: 1.) On the edge of the door, measure from the center of the deadbolt throw to the center of the beveled latch; 2.) Measure the thickness of the door (also done on the edge of the door); 3.) Measure from the edge of the door, where it closes, to the center of the keyhole. This is called the backset; 4.) It is also helpful to know the handing of the door (which way the door swings once opened). Bring these measurements into either of our Allen & Allen Selection Centers and we will help you find the perfect hardware for your existing door.
